What are the benefits of breast lift surgery?
- Reduce the symptoms of droopy breasts, such as rash or infections.
- Boosts self-confidence
- Uplifts breasts and makes them perkier
- This is an excellent areola sculpting system that reshapes, promotes circulation, and makes your areola more aesthetically pleasing.
Am I a suitable candidate for this surgery?
This cosmetic procedure may be a good option if:
- You are over the age of 18
- You have a stable weight
- You are in a good physical and mental condition
- You are realistic about the extent of your results, so you know how to manage your expectations.
- You’ve lost the firmness in your breasts, making it difficult to wear shirts and tops without the support of a bra.
- Your breasts have less volume than they did before losing weight.
- You want to improve breast and nipple symmetry.
At your consultation, our plastic surgeon will discuss all of the options for breast correction and make sure you have realistic expectations of the procedure. During your office visit, we review your medical history and examine you. This will help us determine the best path forward so we can provide you with a safe and effective breast lift.
What happens during the surgery?
A breast lift is performed under general anesthesia. The procedure takes about two hours to complete.
Surgeons can remove excess skin and reshape breast tissue to lift the nipple to a higher position. The surgeon may also reduce the size of the areola to suit your new breast size and shape.
Many people prefer to have breast augmentation or breast reduction combined with a breast lift simultaneously. If you are considering this option, consider the length of time it will take to combine these procedures and weigh that against the benefits that each surgery provides.
Your surgeon will close your incisions with sutures and wrap your breasts in a supportive garment or a special bra. This will stop the weight of your breasts from pulling on your healing wounds.
What happens after the surgery?
After your surgery, you will be taken to the recovery room to rest until the anesthetic wears off. You may have drain tubes placed near your incision to drain excess fluid which will be removed when the fluid or blood stops draining, usually before going home.
After surgery, you will go home in about four to six weeks. You will have a hospital-grade portable breast kit in your hospital bag that includes a cleaning brush, sponge, and sanitary pads. Before you leave the hospital, the surgeon will advise you on wound care and what to do if you face any problems. They will also give you instructions on how to shower and care for your breast.
Recovery after breast lift surgery
After your breast augmentation, your breasts will feel very firm and swollen. You might also notice that the incision has formed a scab about three days after the procedure. We recommend you take over-the-counter pain medications for this first week or so to help with any discomfort.
After breast lift surgery, it is recommended to take two to three weeks off your work. If you have an active job, you will be able to take a week off immediately after surgery. During surgery, the blood circulation to your incisions may be disrupted, which may cause some discomfort in the area.
When will I see the result of the surgery?
The results of breast lift surgery can be long-lasting if you adopt a healthy lifestyle. I’ll explain why in this blog post. The breast is composed of fatty tissue, glandular tissue, and muscle fibers. All these are responsible for producing milk for your baby once he or she nurses from you as an infant. Fat and glandular tissues take time to heal and produce collagen or improve the appearance of your breasts after surgery.
